About Helping Hands

Established in 2018, Helping Hands is an outreach service operated by The House of Levi (Reg Charity: 1160392). We are devoted to making a difference in the community. Locally we provide food, clothing and prayer to the homeless and disadvantaged, internationally we send food, clothes, and school supplies, to third-world countries and those that have experienced disaster. We hold sessions at the Hub 36 Parade, Swindon, SN1 1BA. Call for more details: 07765253100.

At our core, we are grounded by this scripture:

‘It is better to give than to receive’ – Acts 20:35

Helping Hands Administrators

Jade Edwards – with over 6 years of experience working with the vulnerable in the housing sector, her expertise extends to rough sleeper outreach work, local authorities housing legislation,  and charitable organisations to aid vulnerable clients, families, and NHS users.

Rennon Bowra – with a degree in Information Technology, his experience in this field enables him to manage the IT and media at Helping Hands and House of Levi.

Janette Bowra – After spending most of her young adulthood working with the Council, she had the opportunity to support the homeless through a local charity. She actively supports by being the bridge between the disadvantaged and the local council.

Anele Sola – was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and moved to the United Kingdom. Adjusting to a new country has given him valuable experience to relate to those undergoing similar transitions. He supports individuals in any capacity needed to improve their circumstances.

Our Projects

Community Drive

Helping Hands has been serving the community since 2018, initially focusing on outreach work, feeding the homeless, and offering prayer and support. Services are integrated at the central community centre, The Haven Day Centre, and the current location at Swindon HUB, providing food, clothing, prayer, and support. In response to high demand, outreach efforts have expanded beyond Hub sessions, with the team regularly connecting with the community. Additionally, volunteers provide support at Great Western Hospital, offering hot drinks, food, and prayer to those in need.
